ERLANGER Work on a busy Northern Kentucky interstate interchange is going to make traveling between Interstates 75 and 275 difficult for the next two months.
Work crews shut down the ramp from I-75 south to I-275 east in Erlanger on Monday to replace the pavement for the first time since it was built more than 20 years ago, said Greg Kreutzjans, district construction engineer in the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's Fort Mitchell district field office.

The ramp, which leads to the major west/east corridor in Northern Kentucky, will be shut down until Sept. 16, Mr. Kreutzjans said Tuesday.
One detour:
From I-75 south, take I-275 west toward the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport and get off at the first exit, Mineola Pike.
Turn left off the exit ramp, go back over the interstate to the I-275 east entrance ramp.
Turn left to re-enter the highway eastbound.
The project includes eliminating one of the three lanes where I-75 merges with eastbound I-275.
We're going to change the pavement so southbound to eastbound will have its own lane, Mr. Kreutzjans said. That should improve the traffic flow.
As soon as the ramp replacement is finished, similar work is set to begin on the ramp from westbound I-275 to I-75 north.
