Promotions & new on the job




        • Allison Lett Rasmussen has joined the Cincinnati Bar Foundation as director of development and director of community service for the Cincinnati Bar Association. Ms. Rasmussen is responsible for all CBF-related activities, including grants and fund-raising, as well as community service efforts of the CBA. She was director of development for AIDS Volunteers of Cincinnati, where she was responsible for all fund-raising activities.

        • John Reynolds has been named vice president of new business development for Europe at Kendle International Inc., and Mike Laird has been named vice president of new business development for North America.

        • Laurie A. Boyers has been named tax senior at Barnes, Dennig & Co. Ltd. Ms. Boyers has six years of experience in accounting. She has been with the company for three years, previously as staff accountant. She has a bachelor's degree in accounting and management from the University of Cincinnati.

        • David Strayer has joined The Payne Firm, an environmental consulting agency, as senior project manager.

        • Appointed 2002 board of trustees for the Greater Cincinnati Health Council: John Prout, president and chief executive officer, TriHealth, chairperson; Charles Bair, chief executive officer, Highland District Hospital, past chairperson; Thomas Kurtz, president and chief executive officer, CMH Health System/Clinton Memorial Hospital, chairperson-elect; and James Kingsbury, senior vice president, The Fort Hamilton Hospital, secretary/treasurer.

        • Jane Mary Tenhover has been appointed development director at the Contemporary Arts Center. Ms. Tenhover has a 10-year history in development working with a variety of arts and service agencies in the Cincinnati area. Before her tenure in the development field, she worked in finance for Firstar Bank and Gradison & Co. in Cincinnati. She has also worked as a part-time financial reporter for WKRC-TV12.

        • Appointed to the board of trustees at Children's Dental Care Foundation, an affiliate of Children's Hospital Medical Center: Brian C. Dunham, Cors & Bassett LLC; Cindy Fink, Dan Pinger Public Relations Inc.; Frank Heitker, Premier Planning Group LLC; David Hendy, Stern-Hendy Properties Inc.; Winnie Johnson, Tricia Montgomery, Procter & Gamble; Frederic Shadley, Ulmer & Berne LLP; Dr. David Sullivan, pediatric dentist; and Anthony Ward, Cincinnati Reds.

        • The following have joined Coldwell Banker West Shell as sales associates: Scott Renaker, Milford; John Keuffer and Kesia Franklin, Montgomery; Lori Nelson, Northeast; Frank Goodpaster, Florence; Emily Uhlenbrock, West Chester Township; and Thomas Yannessa, Wyoming.

        • Susie Seward has joined Brandy, Wein & Busch Hospitality Inc. as director of sales at Hannaford Suites Hotel Kenwood. Ms. Seward left Cincinnati in 1984 and was sales manager for Tollman-Hundley Hotels, then was promoted to regional sales manager for eight hotels in Orlando and Kissimmee, Fla. For the next five years, she worked for Hostmark Hospitality Management. In 1998 she moved back to Cincinnati to head the sales effort at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Most recently she was with Best Western Springdale.

        • Dorsey W. Jones has been named director of external relations for the Kentucky Community and Technical College System's Northern Kentucky District. Mr. Jones has more than 20 years of management experience. He was president of Bank One, Northern Kentucky district; vice president, corporate business development, West Shell Realtors; and district director of marketing, Delta Air Lines Inc.

        • Erik J. Christman has been named assistant vice president and director at Western-Southern Enterprise. Mr. Christman joined the company in 1998 as a management associate in the leadership development program. He will lead Western-Southern's efforts to introduce mutual funds, securities products and other life/health/disability products into its career agency sales force. His additional responsibilities will include developing strategic partnerships to export Western-Southern products, and work-site marketing.

Awards & honors

        • Brian Rogers, a financial professional for MONY Life Insurance Co. and MONY Securities Corp., members of The MONY Group, has qualified for membership in the industry's prestigious Million Dollar Round Table for 2001.

        • Episcopal Retirement Homes marketing department received several awards from the Cincinnati chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators. The department received an Award of Excellence in the communication campaigns category for its ERH Sunday campaign. Amy Nemeth, public relations specialist, won an Award of Merit in the feature writing category for the article, “An Artful Legacy.” Ms. Nemeth also received an Award of Merit in the Design for Special Publication/Projects cate gory for the “Bustles to Bobby Socks” invitation for ERH's Miami Valley area benefit fashion show. Tammy Boehmer, public relations specialist, received an Award of Merit in the feature writing category for “Fun with a Purpose.”

        • Barry Churbock of Heinz sales team in Cincinnati, has been named a Heinz President's Hero for outstanding work.

        • Angie Strunk, chief operating officer of Transcon Employment Co. Inc., Cincinnati, received the Ernst & Young Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

        • A national public radio industry group has named WGUC's chief executive officer, Richard N. Eiswerth, as General Manager of the Year.

        • Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce received the 2001 Governor's Excellence in Exporting Award.

        • Bramkamp Printing Co. has been chosen as one of the top 50 fastest growing printers in the country by American Printer (Chicago), a business-to-business publication serving the graphic arts industry.

        • Key PrivateBank senior vice president and Cincinnati district sales manager Mary Beth Martin is one of seven employees among approximately 21,000 at Key to receive top honors for outstanding individual achievement in expanding client relationships.

New businesses

        • Hirsch Wise recently launched The Wise Group, a sales training and business development company in Blue Ash. Mr. Wise has 34 years of experience in the sales profession. The Wise Group is an authorized licensee of the Sandler Sales Institute. The company offers customized sales training, as well as more general training programs for business owners, managers and sales people in any industry.

        • Karen L. Kranak has established her new executive search and recruiting firm, K. Kranak & Assoc. Inc. in the Greater Cincinnati area. As a veteran of the recruitment business, she specializes in recruiting for locally managed companies.

Expansions

        • Service Telecommunications Inc., a communications company, has opened a new branch office in Cincinnati. Jaime A. Althoff has been named sales manager of the Cincinnati market.

Relocations

               • The CI Group, provider of executive insight, business consulting services and sales development programs, has relocated its corporate offices to Florence from Jackson, Miss., and Miami.
