Ambassador to be sworn in Tuesday

Indian Hill businessman Mercer Reynolds will be sworn in Tuesday afternoon as the U.S. ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein, a State Department spokesman confirmed the ceremony Friday.

Secretary of State Colin Powell will conduct the ceremony, which will officially begin Mr. Reynolds' three-year term.

Co-owner of the Cincinnati investment banking firm Reynolds DeWitt & Co., Mr. Reynolds is a long-time friend and former business partner of President Bush.

He and business partner Bill DeWitt were co-chairmen of Mr. Bush's Inaugural Committee and previously had been partners with him in the Texas Rangers baseball team.
