Truck runs over woman in Butler

The Cincinnati Enquirer

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP — A 29-year-old woman was taken by medical helicopter to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton on Wednesday after she was run over by a pickup truck in a family member's driveway, authorities said.

The injured woman's mother told Butler County sheriff's deputies that her grandson was inside the truck when the accident occurred about 4:30 p.m. in the 6100 block of Chablis Drive.

Deputy Dan Bower said he tried to question the boy, but was unable to get any helpful information.

He said it was unclear if the 3-year-old was in his safety seat. The names of the injured woman, her son and mother were not released.

Deputy Bower said the grandmother witnessed the incident from inside her house.

The grandmother told deputies her daughter had just left the truck with the keys in her hand, and returned to the house.

She said her daughter went back outside and saw the truck moving, opened the door and tried to put her foot on the brake, Deputy Bower said.

That's when she was run over.

Deputy Bower said the woman may have suffered broken ribs.
