2nd man charged in homicide

The Cincinnati Enquirer

A second suspect was arrested Wednesday and charged in the March 23 shooting death of an ice-cream truck driver in English Woods in North Fairmount.

Mike Solomon, 19, of English Woods was charged with furnishing firearms to a minor, complicity to aggravated robbery and complicity to aggravated murder, Cincinnati police said.

Mr. Solomon is charged in the death of 51-year-old Floyd Kilpatrick of North College Hill, who was shot to death during a robbery of his ice-cream truck at Bleeker Lane and Knob Hill Court.

Police had previously arrested 16-year-old Charles Roberts of Price Hill in connection with the case. Mr. Hill, who will be tried as an adult, was indicted by a Hamilton County grand jury on charges of aggravated murder, murder and aggravated robbery in the death of Mr. Kilpatrick.

Police said the 16-year-old and three others left a party and decided to commit a robbery. The shooting occurred about 9:30 p.m.

Homicide investigators said Wednesday the case is still being investigated.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the homicide unit at 352-3542 or Crime Stoppers at 352-3040. Callers may remain anonymous and may receive compensation for their information.
