We're looking for Tristate Survivor 3 candidate

Neighbor disappeared? Tell us!

PASADENA, Calif. — Could your neighbor be participating in Survivor: Africa being taped now in Kenya?

CBS sources hint that the Tristate again will be represented in the top-rated survival game, which debuts Oct. 11.

Cast members will not be announced until September, several weeks before the premiere. It makes sense to have at least one Tristate contestant, because Cincinnati was CBS' No. 1 market for Survivor: The Australian Outback with Crittenden's Rodger Bingham on the show.

Les Moonves, CBS president and CEO, calls the Kenya competitors being taped this month “the best reality group” yet on TV. “They are spectacular,” he says.

Creator Mark Burnett has added a new wrinkle for Survivor 3. The game will end with four contestants — not three — for the final two-hour episode. Ballots from the last Tribal Council vote won't be counted until a live telecast on Jan. 10.

Survivor 4 will be taped at an undisclosed location in late fall for broadcast March-May on CBS, Mr. Moonves says.

If your neighbor or co-worker has disappeared to compete in Survivor 3, please e-mail TV Critic John Kiesewetter at
