FRANKLIN Almost all children in the Franklin Schools might see improvements to their buildings under a renovation plan that adds classrooms, replaces doors and windows and improves athletic facilities.
To pay for the projects, estimated to cost $6.5 million, the Franklin board of education will put a bond issue on the Nov. 6 ballot. School officials estimate it will take a 1.5-mill bond issue to raise the money, but the exact amount will be determined by the Warren County auditor's office, minterim Superintendent Bill Wood said.
The improvement plan calls for four classrooms to be added at both Schenck Elementary and Gerke Elementary, Mr. Wood said.
At Franklin High School, the auditorium would be ren ovated into a media center. A physical fitness addition would be built. And a new structure, including bleachers, at the football field would be constructed.
The heating systems, doors and windows in each school would also be upgraded or replacedn.
