Former winners chase N.Ky. men's title
Three former Northern Kentucky Men's Amateur winners defending champion Barry Wehrman, 1999 winner Lance Lucas and three-timer Charlie Nieman (1975, '82 and '93) will go for the title in to day's 36-hole stroke-play finale at Twin Oaks Golf Course in Covington.
Joining them are 2000 runner-up Rob Clarke, former Cincinnati Reds pitcher Tom Browning, Covington Catholic graduate Ross Kreutzjans, Covington Latin senior Andrew Stephens and 2001 co-medalist Tom Cahill.
I think it's one of the strongest fields in years, Clarke said. Browning has really improved every year. I'm very impressed with Kreutzjans; he's got a very nice swing.
