SPARTA, Ky. — Sycamore High graduate Jeff Fultz won the NASCAR Gatorade All-Pro race at Kentucky Speedway Friday night, with a dominant performance in which he led most of the way.

Fultz led the majority of the race, including the final 54 laps of the 100-lap race.

Fultz, 31, scored his fifth career All-Pro victory and first on his “home” track at Kentucky. The race, delayed by rain, ended about 12:20 a.m. today. Several thousand fans remained to watch.

TOP 10 FINISH
  1. Jeff Fultz, Chevy, 3952.234
  2. Wayne Anderson, Chevy, 3952.446
  3. Eddie Mercer, Chevy, 3952.641
  4. Brian Smith, Pontiac, 3952.836
  5. Steven Howard, Chevy, 3974.942
  6. Benny Gordon, Chevy, 3975.063
  7. David Reutiman, Chevy, 3975.216
  8. Bill Bigley Jr., Chevy, 3975.286
  9. Stanley Smith, Chevy, 3975.458
  10. Randy Gentry, Chevy, 3975.632
Fultz has been a top driver on the All-Pro circuit for years, and finished second in the 2000 season points race.

“It was a little nerve-wracking, because I wanted to run as clean as I could,” Fultz said in victory lane. “I want to thank everybody up in the stands. We've got a lot of people up there, friends and family.”

Fultz, who started in the 2nd position, also started No.2 in last year's inaugual All-Pro race at Kentucky. He finished 18th last year, with an electrical problem.

“Last year we had a little failure, so we wanted to do well on our home track,” Fultz said.
