Regal renovation, renaming at hand
The owner of the Regal Hotel downtown is nearing completion of arenovation and renaming of the 872-room facility.
One tower, renamed the Millennium Hotel, includes upgraded rooms and other improvements. The other tower, which will soon be called the Sheraton Four Points, will offer visitors a less-expensive option.
Company officials will not reveal how much they are investing in the Cincinnati property, but a spokeswoman for Millennium Hotels and Resorts said the New York-based chain will spend $70 million for the renovation of 12 hotels nationwide.
LanVision profits up
LanVision Systems Inc., the Mason medical records software company, reported improved operating results for the fiscal first quarter.
For the three months ended April 30, the company reported an operating profit of $472,960 versus an operating loss of $702,020 a year ago. Net income was $101,541, or 1 cent a share, compared with net income of $314,829, or 4 cents a share, last year after a $1.04 million gain on the sale of a data center.
Revenues increased 50 percent to $2.7 million from $1.8 million a year ago.
Convergys Corp. wins contract
Cincinnati's Convergys Corp. said it won a billing services contract from Netsize, a French provider of two-way messaging services. Financial terms weren't disclosed, but a Convergys spokesman said the agreement is noteworthy because most of the company's business in France is customer relationship management.
The company confirmed it had reduced hours for about 1,500 employees at call centers in Utah and Colorado because of seasonal slowdowns.
