N.Ky. baseball highlights

Elix pitches Brossart to win

The Cincinnati Enquirer

Challenged by Bishop Brossart baseball coach Bob Rowe before the 38th District semifinals, sophomore pitcher Steve Elix was up to the task.

In a complete-game effort, Elix struck out seven and scattered two hits, giving Brossart a 10-0 victory over Silver Grove at Campbell County.

“Steve started coming on during spring break,” Rowe said. “I used him today because he has been consistent and I knew he would throw strikes.”

The Mustangs play Campbell County for the district championship at 7p.m. today at Campbell County.

Both teams will advance to next week's regional tournament at Harrison County.
