Serial robber suspect in Westwood heist
A man resembling the suspect in a string of downtown bank robberies hit the Firstar bank branch in Westwood, police said the first of two local holdups Saturday morning.
Police said a white man in his 50s, about 5 feet 11 and 160-170 pounds, entered the branch in the 6200 block of Glenway Avenue shortly before 10 a.m. He gave a clerk a note demanding money and left by walking east across Parkcrest Lane. He never showed a weapon.
Police said the robber has a tattoo above his left elbow, and may be driving a blue, four-door Volvo. The man's description matches that of a bank robber who has hit at least three other banks within the past two weeks.

About an hour later, someone else robbed the New Foundation Loan and Building in Colerain Township. Sheriff's officials said a black man, about 6 feet tall with a thin build and medium complexion, entered the thrift at 8249 Clara Ave. in Groesbeck at 10:52 a.m. with a black bag and told a teller to fill it with money.
Police said the man, who did not show a weapon, fled on foot.
Girl, 4, drowns in grandparents' pool
COLUMBIA TOWNSHIP A 4-year-old girl being watched by her adoptive grandparents drowned Friday in an in-ground swimming pool.
According to the Hamilton County sheriff's office, Kirsten Sutter died Friday after unsuccessful attempts at CPR by the grandparents and by a life squad. She was pronounced dead at Jewish Hospital in Kenwood.
The grandparents, whom the sheriff's department did not name, told deputies that the girl was inside watching television when the grandmother went upstairs to change clothes.
When she came back downstairs about five minutes later, the girl was gone. The grandparents found her in the pool a few minutes later.
Westwood man dies after 3-car wreck
A 36-year-old Westwood man was killed Friday night in a three-car crash.
Rodger Letsche of LaFeuille Avenue died a few blocks from his home after his Toyota pickup careened into a utility pole on Queen City Avenue.
Cincinnati police report the wreck happened about 11:22 p.m. when a Honda Accord driven by Charles Dick, 21, of Delhi Township changed lanes on Queen City between Sunset and LaFeuille. Mr. Dick's car struck a Dodge Durango driven by Mark Savey, 43, of Westwood, which then struck Mr. Letsche.
A passenger in Mr. Savey's truck, Robert Brown, 45, of Alexandria, Va., was in serious condition at University Hospital.
No charges had been filed Saturday.
City man killed in construction accident
BURLINGTON A Cincinnati man was killed in a construction accident Friday in Boone County, authorities said.
Joseph Street, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses said Mr. Street was attempting to drive a compactor, a piece of equipment used to compress earth in and around construction sites, up an embankment.
Mr. Street was either thrown or attempted to jump from the equipment and was pinned under it, police said.
Hartwell man charged after toddler wanders
A Hartwell man was charged Saturday with child endangerment after his 2-year-old daughter was found wandering in the street as he slept, Cincinnati police said.
Police said the child, who was unhurt, was discovered by neighbors about 1 p.m. Billy R. Boggs, 25, of the 8000 block of Burns Avenue, was in custody Saturday.
Disabled teen girl reported missing
A teen-age girl suffering from a mental disability was reported missing from her Over-the-Rhine home Saturday, and police are asking for help in finding her.
Cincinnati Police said 14-year-old Kaneisha Mathis, who is described as mentally slow and functioning on a third-grade level, was last seen near her home in the 1600 block of Vine Street about 1:45 p.m. Friday.
Kaneisha is 5 feet 1, weighs 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a yellow shirt with the word ""Beware printed on the front and yellow capri pants.
