Cincinnati high school highlights
Ashley Ball went 3-for-4 with a double, triple and three RBI to lead Lebanon over Middletown 5-1 in the second round of the Division I Sectional softball tournament.
Leah Tufts went the distance, striking out eight for her 15th win of the season.
Ross 26, Woodward 0 Rachel Richardson struck out 14 of the 15 batters she faced for her second perfect game and fourth no-hitter of the season in the second round of the Division II Sectionals at Riverstar.
Ross advances to play Wilmington on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Riverstar in the sectional finals.
Clermont NE 8, McNicholas 3, Division II sectional at Riverstar The Rockets scored five runs in the first inning on the way to the sectional semifinal victory. Pitcher Amanda Smithers started the rally with an RBI single, and Trish Kramer later drove in two runs with a single. Smithers went the distance to earn the victory.
Baseball
CHCA 5, New Miami 4, Division IV sectional at Tealtown CHCA scored five runs in the fifth inning to rally from a four-run deficit. Bill Pohl and Drew Hood drove in a pair of runs apiece on singles in the inning. Rob Tyner drove in Hood with a single for the game-winner.
The victory is the third over New Miami this year.
Georgetown 10, Seven Hills 8, Division IV at Tealtown Senior Dan Hagman drove in the tying and winning runs in the bottom of the sixth. The G-Men came back on Seven Hills three times in the game before finally putting it away. Jeremy Decker and Adam Rhoades each drove in three runs for Georgetown.
