Promotions & new on the job




        • Holly Ford has joined Morton's of Chicago as sales and marketing manager, and Timothy Shaughnessy has been named general manager.

        • Joseph A. Klunk has been named executive vice president and chief operating officer at Parkway Products Inc., a Florence-based molder of high-performance plastic and elastomer materials.

        • Harry Lekien has been named executive chef at The Golf Center at Kings Island. Mr. Lekien will oversee the daily operation of the 100-seat Course-
       View Restaurant and the 300-seat Jack's Patio Grille. He is also responsible for the CourseView Pavilion Conference Center and tournament catering. He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati. He previously worked at the Country Club of the South, the Four Seasons Hotel and the Cincinnati Marriott.

        • Thom Brannock has joined Airguard Industries as an area representative for air filtration products. Mr. Brannock transferred from sister company United Air Spe cialist, where he was a purchasing agent and production planner. He received his bachelor's degrees in industrial management, finance and operations management from the University of Cincinnati.

        • Paul Moore and Rick Warman have been named vice presidents at Fifth Third Bank; Mark Roach, Mark Benskin and Jeff DeFrank have been named assistant vice presidents; Jennifer L. Lux, Brian Cottengim and Regina M. Cook have been named assistant cashiers; and Stephanie Gunter has been named trust officer.

        • Susan McDonald has joined Freedman, Gibson & White, advertising agency, as account supervisor, public relations division; Megan SeeKamp as account manager, account services division; and Konrad Orlet as a designer.

        • Mark A. Vander Laan, partner at Dinsmore & Shohl LLP, has been elected chairman of the litigation department. Mr. Vander Laan has been with the law firm for 29 years, and has been a member of the firm's general management committee for 14 years. His practice includes litigation principally involving business and government matters, securities, and civil and criminal fiduciary issues. He received his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School.

        • Eric P. Olden has joined 84 Lumber Co. as manager trainee in the Cleves store.

        • Allen J. Aspacher has been named an associate at Finkbeiner, Pettis & Strout Inc. Mr. Aspacher joined the firm in 1984 and is now a project manager in the Hamilton office. He worked in the Toledo office before moving to Hamilton, where he oversees the design of water, wastewater and storm water projects. He earned his bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Toledo.

        • Steve Puccia has joined Deskey Integrated Branding as vice president of new business development; Emma Bracey as senior designer; and Connie Burch and Linda Ware as account executives.

        • Andrew J. Marovich and E. Jason Atkins have joined the law firm of Hemmer, Spoor, Pangburn, DeFrank & Kasson PLLC as associates.

        • The following have been appointed officers for the 2001-03 term for Allied Construction Industries: Greg Moratschek, Hummel Industries Inc., president; Jay Meyers, Dugan & Meyers Construction Co., first vice president; Jim Imbus, Imbus Roofing, second vice president; Tim Beischel, R.J. Beischel Building Co., secretary; and Bob Gigax, Schiff Kriedler-Shell Inc., treasurer.

        • Samuel E. Johnson, president and chief executive officer, has launched Corporate Site Services LLC, consulting and building management. Mr. Johnson has more than 30 years of experience in the area of facilities management, at an executive or senior level position. Before starting CSS, he spent the past 21 years with Cinergy Corp. as general manager of corporate facilities, real estate, office and record services, and security.

        he following have been named new members to the board of trustees for the Arts and Humanities Resource Center for Older Adults: Jeannette Wade, Dr. Jenny Thomas, Mary Kay Morris, Brenda Lovich, Dr. Jennifer Kinney and Carl Iseman.

        • Mark Rutherford has been named assistant vice president of the Ohio Casualty Insurance Co. Mr. Rutherford is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, where he received a bachelor's degree in mathematics and statistics. He joined the company's actuarial department in 1988 as a trainee.

Awards & honors

        • Jeff and Carol Cline's first year with Fastsigns got their names in lights at the national Fastsigns convention in Orlando, Fla. The Clines were given the company's Newcomer of the Year Award. The store is at 3272 Highland Ave. in Columbia Township.

        • Sue Momeyer, chief executive officer of Planned Parenthood of Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky, received the national 2001 Ruth Green Award at the Planned Parenthood Federation of America's annual conference.

        • Kerry E. Seitel, director of sales and marketing for Rhein Interests Inc., has been honored by the Greater Cincinnati Sales and Marketing Council with the Marketer of the Year Award for 2000. The Greater Cincinnati Sales and Marketing Council also honored Robert C. Rhein, owner of Rhein Interests Inc., with the Developer of the Year Award for 2000.

        • R. Joseph Wilson, partner of Wilson Crone, has been named in the National Register's Who's Who in Executives and Profession als 2001-2002 Edition.

        • Kingsgate Transportation Services Inc., a full service transportation and logistics company, received the Award of Excellence from Cinergy Corp. for excellence in the field of transportation.

        • Judith Cline-Kadetz, vice president of client services for A.M. Kinney, and owner of Target Marketing for Professional Services, received the Marketer of the Year Award from the Greater Cincinnati Chapter of the Society of Marketing Professional Services.

        • Horizon Productions Inc. received an Award of Excellence in the Communicator Awards 2001 Print Media competition and also received an Award of Distinction.

        • NuAge Technologies, a provider of data management for companies, has opened an office at 3783 Fox Run, Cincinnati, OH 45236.

Name change

        • New Economy Strategy, a consulting firm that helps companies identify new ways to compete, is changing its name to The Valen Group.

        • The Regal Cincinnati has been renamed the Millennium Hotel, Cincinnati following a major renovation involving the rebranding of the existing north tower as a Millennium property and the south tower as a Sheraton Four Points.

        • Casco Products Inc. has changed its name to Casco Manufacturing Solutions Inc. It provides custom manufacturing services for health-care and consumer products companies in North America.

New businesses

        • Drs. Juli A. and Adam C. Swolsky have opened Cincinnati Chiropractic Health Care Inc. in the Dillonvale Shopping Center, 3918 E. Galbraith Road.

        • Chris Taulbee has opened The Dashing Diner, a restaurant delivery service that serves Blue Ash, Hyde Park, Clifton, downtown Cincinnati, Covington and Newport.

Relocations

        • Holiday Cruise and Travel Inc., formerly Cruise Holidays of East Cincinnati, has moved to 7801 Beechmont Ave., Anderson Township, from its former location in Eastgate.

        • Lipps & Son, a general contracting company, is celebrating its 20th anniversary and moving to 9105 Luther Road, Cleves.
