PGA gives free 10-minute lessons

        The PGA of America and Golf Digest magazine will team up to offer free 10-minute golf lessons from more than 4,000 PGA professionals during May.

        A list of professionals taking part in “Play Golf America” can be found on www.PGA.com. Call for an appointment. Locally, they include:

        PINK RIBBON PRO-AM: Thirty LPGA Tour pros, including Hall of Famers Kathy Whitworth and Sandra Haynie, grouped with local amateurs, will play in the third annual Ethicon Endo-Surgery Pink Ribbon LPGA Por-Am on Oct.13 at the Golf Center at Kings Island. All proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the LPGA's national charity. More info: 1-800-866-522-PINK.

        GCWGA SCHEDULE: The Greater Cincinnati Women's Golf Association Amateur Invitational will be held at Wetherington Golf and Country Club June 18-22. UC's Katie Rakel is defending champion.
