Rodger still most popular, as survivors face life after Jerri
By John Kiesewetter
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Here's a quick TV survival guide as the Tristate awaits the 10th episode of Survivor: The Australian Outback (8 p.m. today, Channels 12, 7) featuring Rodger Bingham, the Grant County High School industrial arts teacher from Crittenden, Ky.:

Jerri
|
Goners: Nine gone, six to go, after Jerri Manthey, 30, a Los Angeles bartender, was voted out of the $1 million game last week.
The former Ogakor tribe has four in the game: Colby Donaldson, Tina Wesson, Keith Famie and Amber Brkich. Kucha has three: Rodger, Elisabeth Filarski and Nick Brown.

Rodger
|
Popular guy: Rodger's popularity is on the rise again, as the teacher-farmer has tied Elisabeth in the CBS.com viewers' poll (8.9 on a 1-10 scale). Colby is next (7.1), followed by Tina (6.3), Keith (6.0) and Nick (5.8). With Jerri eliminated, her pal Amber becomes the least popular (4.1).
Betting line: For the second consecutive week, Rodger isn't the long shot in odds posted by Intertops.com, an Internet sports betting site. Nick, who feared he would be voted out last week (before winning immunity), is last with 8-1 odds. Favorites are Tina and Keith at 2.5-1, followed by Colby, 3-1; Elisabeth, 4-1; Rodger and Amber, 6-1; and Nick, 8-1.
Rudy-like moment: Rodger, a devout Christian who seldom has an unkind word about anyone, finally had his fill of irritating Jerri in the Barramundi camp last week: Most days she gets up in a good mood. But, oh baby, look out if she gets up in a bad mood.
Quote of the week: Me and Colby and Keith usually get together and talk about the order (of who gets eliminated). We all agree and disagree on things, Tina explained before they voted out Jerri.
Fashion statement: Amber's pierced navel.
Wisdom of Rodger: That (water) looks dirty. We definitely better boil up some water.
Survivor games: Joel Klug from last summer's Survivor appears at Jefferson Hall, 1400 Main St., Over-the-Rhine, at 5:30-7:30 p.m. today to give away a Caribbean vacation and a chance to win $1 million. He will supervise a series of games, such as fruit bowling, a life-preserver toss and a limbo contest.
Big question: Who will be the next to go? Probably Kucha's Nick or Elisabeth, who pose a bigger threat to the Ogakor gang than good ol' Rodger. I know I'm the old guy here, Rodger said last week.
Tonight: Down to a half cup of rice, Barramundi tribe members cut a deal with host Jeff Probst that costs them dearly, CBS says. The contestants also aren't happy campers about one person clearly pulling less weight than the others.
