Woman charged with assault on two police officers

The Cincinnati Enquirer

COLERAIN TOWNSHIP — A 19-year-old Finneytown woman was arrested Monday after she allegedly assaulted two police officers who were arresting her boyfriend.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office charged Lydia Honnaker of the 400 block of Wellesley Avenue with assault on a police officer, felonious assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and felony fleeing and eluding.

The incident began at 2:45 p.m. when Green Township police Detective Vince Cerchio spotted Richard Luallen, a wanted felony suspect, in the 2800 block of Quaker Court in Colerain Township, the sheriff's office said. Mr. Luallen fled on foot and was caught by sheriff's deputies.

During the arrest, Ms. Honnaker assaulted a sheriff's deputy and interfered in the arrest, the sheriff's office said. When officers tried to arrest her, Ms. Honnaker ran to a vehicle and tried to flee. Detective Cerchio tried to arrest her and she drove off, causing minor injury to the officer's arm, officers said.

Sheriff's deputies pursued the vehicle for about 3 miles, where they caught Ms. Honnaker at Pippin and Adams roads.

Mr. Luallen, of the 2800 block of Quaker Court in Colerain Township, was charged on an outstanding felony burglary warrant and resisting arrest.
