Fire destroys house in Newport

The Cincinnati Enquirer

NEWPORT — A fire early Sunday destroyed a two-story home on West 12th Street; no one was injured.

Firefighters found flames and smoke when they responded to the 4:35 a.m. call at a two-family frame residence in the 200 block of West 12th Street, said Newport Fire Capt. Bill Ravenscraft.

Firefighters from Southgate, Wilder and Bellevue assisted.

The cause of the fire, which started on the first floor, remains under investigation.
