Roger Bacon wins sectional title


Spartans rout Goshen 78-48

        Junior forward Frank Phillips scored 17 points and junior guard Josh Hausfeld added 16 as Roger Bacon rolled to a 78-48 victory in the Cincinnati Division II lower bracket finals at Anderson.

        Roger Bacon broke out to a 22-10 lead after one quarter and opened the margin to 43-21 as David Johnson hit a 3-pointer at the halftime horn.

        The Spartans play Trotwood Madison in the district finals at 7:15 p.m. Thursday at UD Arena.

        GOSHEN (48) — Drake 6 7 20, Bell 2 2 6, Blevins 1 3 5, Smith 4 1 9, Steele 1 0 2, Helton 1 0 2, Sheppard 2 0 4. Totals: 17 13 48.
