N.Ky. girls basketball games


Calvary Christian ousts Lloyd

        Becca Blaine made two straight layups with about four minutes remaining, giving Calvary Christian the lead on the way to a 58-54 win over Lloyd in the 34th District at Villa Madonna.

        Lisa Van Berkel clinched the game by making two free throws with fewer than 10 seconds remaining.

        Sarah Woods led Calvary with 20 points and Van Berkel added 19.

        The Cougars will play Scott in the semifinals at 8:15 p.m. Thursday.

        • Bishop Brossart 62, Pendleton County 41, 38th District at Bishop Brossart — Senior guard Katie Schwegmann scored 12 of her 26 points in the third quarter, when Brossart took a 30-point lead. Senior forward Carrie Clift scored nine of her 16 points in the third period.

        Casey Geiman scored nine points and had a game-high nine rebounds for the Lady 'Stangs.

        Sophomore forward Megan Wood scored 11 points to lead Pendleton County.

        Bishop Brossart, the No.2 team in The Enquirer's Northern Kentucky coaches poll, will play Silver Grove in the semifinals at 8:15 p.m. Thursday.

        Junior guard Mary Wilson made three consecutive 3-pointers in the third quarter to help the Raiders take a 33-24 lead. Wilson finished with 13 points.

        Senior forward Kristi Capel led Heritage with 11 points.

        Ryle advanced to play Conner in a semifinal at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
