N.Ky. boys basketball games


No. 4 Conner outlasts No. 3 Scott

The Cincinnati Enquirer

        Chris Brown scored a field goal and two free throws in the final minute to help Conner, ranked No.4 in The Enquirer's Northern Kentucky coaches poll, to a 77-73 win over No.3 Scott Tuesday night.

        Scott trailed by 16 with two minutes remaining in the third quarter, but Justin Morris sparked an Eagles comeback with 10 fourth-quarter points. Scott tied the game with one minute remaining on two free throws by Jamie Medved.

        Senior Jeremy Stephenson led Conner with 24 points.

        Medved scored 23 points and Morris had 19 for Scott.

        • Dixie Heights 74, Simon Kenton 64 — Sophomore guard Russ Bramlage scored 20 points in the second half, after being held to just four in the first, to help the No.8 Colonels rally over the No.5 Pioneers.

        Dixie Heights, which trailed 35-34 at halftime, scored eight unanswered points in the third quarter and took a 53-44 lead into the fourth.

        Jordan Stowers led Simon Kenton with 20 points.

        Nick Love had a game-high 17 points for No.9 St. Henry. Justin Hill paced Holmes with 15 points.
