Man stable after train accident

The Cincinnati Enquirer

COVINGTON — A homeless man was in stable condition with a broken leg Sunday night after being run over by a train Saturday.

Stephen Gjertsen, 43, was airlifted to University Hospital after a train ran over him at Eighth and Russell streets in Covington, said Covington Police Sgt. Rob Irvin.

“Apparently, he laid down in the tracks instead of across them. A train came down, roughed him up and went over him,” Sgt. Irvin said.
