Mighty Ducks 3. St. Johns 3
ST. JOHN'S, Newfoundland Andy McDonald and Sean Avery tallied goals 3:09 apart in the third period to lift the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks to a 3-3 tie with the St. John's Maple Leafs Saturday in the AHL at the St. John's Memorial Stadium.
Jay Legault had a first-period goal for the Ducks, who earned a point in the standings for just the fifth time this season when trailing after two periods (1-12-2-2). Bob Wren registered an assist, giving the Ducks' all-time leading scorer points in 11 of his last 12 games.
Bobby House scored his team-leading 24th and 25th goals of the season for the Leafs, while Don MacLean contributed a goal and an assist. Gregg Naumenko stopped 29-of-32 shots for Cincinnati, including 21 through the first two periods. Mike Minard turned aside 35 shots for St. John's.
