N.Ky. boys basketball games


Stowers' triple-double powers Simon Kenton

        Jordan Stowers had a triple-double and Mike Brock scored a career-high 27 points Friday night, lifting Simon Kenton to a 76-68 victory over Ryle at Simon Kenton.

        Stowers had 17 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists for the Pioneers, who improved to 17-6.

        Justin Doelman paced Ryle with 14 points.

        • Conner at Newport Central Catholic — The game was suspended with 6:37 remaining in the third quarter because of moisture on the floor. NCC was leading 38-20. The game will be resumed at a date to be determined.

        Senior guard Ronny Dawn set NCC's all-time career scoring record in the first half. Dawn now has 1,934 points. The previous record of 1,933 was held by John Brannen, who graduated in 1992.

        • Silver Grove 82, Dayton 67 — Senior Chad McCarter scored 11 points in the first quarter as the Big Trains opened an eight-point lead.

        McCarter finished with 29 points and Jimmy Horstman added 21.

        Nathan Hall led Dayton with 21.

        • Highlands 54, Boone Co. 38 — Sophomore center Ross Neltner led the Bluebirds with 17 points and eight rebounds.

        Sophomore guard Jeff Guidugli was the leading scorer with 19 points.

        Senior guard Robby Kellerman helped Boone County to a 16-8 first-quarter lead but the Rebels were held to 15 points over the next two quarters and Highlands took the lead.

        Kellerman finished with 16 points.

        • Dixie Heights 51, St. Henry 47 — Matt O'Toole sank two free throws in the closing minute to seal the victory.

        O'Toole led the Colonels with 13 points and Russ Bramlage added 10.

        Nick Love and Andrew Vieth each scored 14 for St.Henry.

        • Campbell County 63, Holmes 54 — Steve Sigmon had seven of his game-high 18 points in the second quarter when Campbell County broke out to a 31-16 lead.

        Jordan Futscher and Kevin Reinhardt each added 16 points for Campbell.

        Justin Hill paced Holmes with 13 points. Brandon Smith had seven assists and Ryan Fischer added 12 points for Holmes.

        • Bishop Brossart 64, Maysville St.Patrick 45 — Chris Ryan scored a game-high 21 points, moving him to ninth on the Brossart all-time scoring list.

        Ryan now has 1,084 points for his career.

        Freshman center Derreck Rhoden had a career-high 14 points, including eight in the second quarter.

        Mark Blakefield led St.Patrick with 12 points, all coming on 3-pointers.
