Fort Ancient Valley Conference games


Loveland wraps up Cardinal crown

        Kevin Schappell scored 19 points and Jeff Lewis had 17 as Loveland clinched its second straight Fort Ancient Valley Conference-Cardinal Division championship with a 79-52 victory over visiting Kings Friday night.

        Eric Van Buskirk added 11 rebounds for Loveland. John Walters paced Kings with 10 points.

        • Wilmington 64, Goshen 44 — Justin Wilson scored 11 of his 24 points in the second quarter as the Hurricanes put the game out of reach. The Warriors never came within 10 points for the remainder of the game.

        Roger Drake paced the Warriors with 15 points.

        Wagner led Ross with 14 points. John Oakley paced Little Miami with 14.

               • Winton Woods 69, Turpin 47 — Winton Woods, the No.1 team in the Enquirer's Division I coaches poll, remained undefeated behind senior center P.J. Mills' 19 points and 10 rebounds.

        Junior guard Robert Hite led all scorers with 20 points for the Warriors. Drew Walters led the Spartans with 17 points.

        • Anderson 60, Amelia 46 — Chris Norwell scored 14 of his game-high 25 points in the second half to help Anderson erase a five-point halftime deficit.

        Norwell also grabbed 10 rebounds for the Redskins. Kenny Riddell added 18 points. Amelia was led by Ryan Gladwell and Ronnie Scott with 15 points.

        • Glen Este 58, Northwest 40 — Mike Rieck hit three 3-pointers in the second quarter as the Trojans took control. Glen Este hit five 3-pointers in the second quarter and outscored Northwest 22-13.

        Reick and David Mattei each finished with 11 points for Glen Este. Robert Moss paced Northwest with 12.

        • Mason 64, Harrison 58 — Junior guard Robert Harman scored nine of his team-high 18 points in the third quarter, all on 3-pointers, to lead Mason back from a three-point halftime deficit. Junior guard Paul Volkerding led Harrison with 24 points.
