Man dies after car runs off road
MORGAN TOWNSHIP A 53-year-old Brookville, Ind., man died Friday morning at McCullough-Hyde Hospital after a crash in Morgan Township.
Butler County Coroner's Chief Investigator Patricia Randolph said no ruling had been issued, but the cause of the man's death was believed to be related to the crash.
TRUCK NOW A COMPACT: Whitewater Township fire Chief Bill Darby surveys the damage done to a pickup that hit a disabled Rumpke service truck on Interstate 275, flipped over twice and came to rest on its roof Friday. The pickup's driver, Larry Bailey, 62, of Hamilton was in fair condition at University Hospital Friday afternoon, but was expected to be released, hospital spokesperson Dona Buckler said. Three unidentified Rumpke employees were treated at area hospitals and released. Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers said Mr. Bailey was driving south on I-275 near Kilby Road when he went into the berm and struck the Rumpke truck. The accident remains under investigation.

She said Mr. Race at first appeared lucid and was able to tell investigators that he had swerved to miss a deer, but then he collapsed and was taken to the hospital.
He was pronounced dead at 6:44 a.m.
No charges in crash that tied up I-71
Silverton police have decided not to issue any citations after completing an investigation of a wreck on Interstate 71 that destroyed a travel-trailer and backed up traffic for at least two hours Feb. 3.
According to a police report that was not available last Saturday, a van driven by Thomas Blank of Brecksville, Ohio, that was towing a camper trailer southbound on I-71 near the Red Bank Road exit collided with a white Chevrolet Camaro driven by Marilyn Hartman of Cherry Grove.
The collision pushed the Camaro into a concrete guard rail and caused the camper to detach from the van, flip, and scatter debris all over the highway. The wreck also damaged a green Hyundai driven by Renee Ackman, of Milford, acording to the police report.
The wreck caused two minor injuries that were treated at the scene.
High court refuses to block execution
COLUMBUS The Ohio Supreme Court refused on Friday to stop the execution of an inmate because the request was premature.

The court noted that John W. Byrd Jr. still has a federal appeal pending.
Mr. Byrd was sentenced to die for the stabbing of Monte Tewksbury, 40, a clerk at a Colerain Township convenience store. His attorneys asked the court last week to stop the execution because an accomplice had admitted the 1983 slaying.
Mr. Byrd's final guaranteed appeal of his sentence was denied Jan. 8 by the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Byrd asked the court for a rehearing of that appeal.
No execution date has been set, but Mr. Byrd is among two prisoners expected to be executed this year.
The other is Jay D. Scott, convicted of killing a Cleveland delicatessen owner. Mr. Scott is scheduled to die April 17.
$640,000 that fell from truck returned
CLEVELAND After two days of holding onto three packages of $640,000 that fell from an armored truck, a worried and remorseful man took the money still wrapped in plastic back Friday.
Federal prosecutors decided not to press criminal charges against the man, an office worker, after reviewing the evidence.
The money had been missing since Wednesday morning when it fell out of a back door of an AT Systems armored truck that had just left the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.
