Miami's Grunkemeyer out with injury

The Cincinnati Enquirer
Jason Grunkemeyer's sprained ankle probably will force him to miss Miami's game Sunday at Ball State.
It's a moderate-to-severe sprain, MU spokesman Mike Wolf said. There's a chance he could be back for Wednesday (vs. Northern Illinois).
Grunkemeyer injured the ankle in Miami's 48-45 victory over Kent State Wednesday. Grunkemeyer, a 6-foot-5 senior guard, is Miami's second-leading scorer at 11.3 points a game.
The RedHawks just got their other starting guard, Doug Davis, back for the Kent State game. He had missed five games with a dislocated right big toe.
That's the way it's gone for us four out of the last five years, coach Charlie Coles said. The injuries usually come when we're making a run.
Grunkemeyer's injury means Miami's two freshmen, Juby Johnson and Eugene Seals, probably will start together against Ball State.
That was one of the good things about Kent State, Coles said. We got Eugene and Juby on the floor together. With them, we're not as good offensively, but we're better defensively.
In the victory over Kent State, the RedHawks failed to make a 3-point field goal for the first time since Feb.24, 1988, a streak of 381 games.
That's OK, Coles said. I always thought that 3s can get you in trouble. We play better when we're not taking 3s.
