High school events in Cincinnati this weekend




Wrestling

        League Championship Meets: Saturday, at various high school sites in Cincinnati.

        Of note: This is the final weekend of the regular season with every league conducting meets Saturday to determine individual and team champions.

        Sites and times for the meets:

        Greater Miami Conference at Colerain, 11 a.m.

        Southern Buckeye Conference at Western Brown, 10 a.m.

        Greater Catholic League at Purcell Marian, 11 a.m.

        Miami Valley Conference at Summit Country Day, 10 a.m.

        Cincinnati Hills League at Reading, 10 a.m.

        Mid Miami League at Dayton Stebbins, 10 a.m.

        Queen City Conference at Mount Healthy, 10 a.m.

        Ft. Ancient Valley Conference Buckeye Division at Northwest, 10 a.m.

        Ft. Ancient Valley Conference Cardinal Division at Norwood, 10 a.m.

Boys Swimming

        Sectional Meets: 6 p.m. today, St. Xavier High School, 600 North Bend Rd., Finneytown and Anderson High School, 7560 Forest Rd., Anderson Township.

        Of note: Defending state champion St. Xavier is the favorite in the West sectional at Keating Natatorium. A wide-open battle is expected in the East sectional.

        The top two swimmers in each event from each of the four sectionals (two in Dayton-Springfield) advance to the district meet next week at Miami University in Oxford along with the next 24 fastest swimmers from the four sectionals.
       

Girls Swimming

        Sectional Meets: Division I 11 a.m. Saturday; Division II, 5 p.m., at St. Xavier High School, 600 North Bend Rd., Finneytown.

        Of note: This is the second year the girls will be contested in two divisions. Defending state champion Ursuline is favored in Division I, while Indian Hill and Wyoming are expected to battle for the Division II title.

        The top two finishers in each event in both Divisions I and II qualify for the district next week at Miami University in Oxford along with 28 at-large swimmers in Division I and 20 at-large in Division II.
