Former Highlands football and basketball stars Jared Lorenzen and Derek Smith will have their No. 34 and No. 35 basketball jerseys retired Feb. 16 before the Bluebirds' game against St. Henry.

        Lorenzen, now the starting quarterback at the University of Kentucky, won Kentucky Mr. Football honors in 1998. Smith, UK's starting tight end is the only player to finish second in Mr. Football and Mr. Basketball.
