N.Ky. girls basketball games


No. 3 NewCath defeats St. Henry

        Erica Ziegler scored six of her 15 points in the second quarter to help Newport Central Catholic — ranked third in the Enquirer's coaches poll — defeat St. Henry 61-39 Tuesday night.

        Amy Meyers scored 16 points to lead the Thoroughbreds.

        Nicole Chiodi scored 12 points and sister Maria added 10 for NewCath.

        Erin Johnson led the Crusaders with eight points.
