N.Ky. girls basketball games


Walton's Schmidt reaches 2,000

        Jessica Schmidt scored 18 points to reach 2,000 career points and lead Walton-Verona over Ludlow 53-39.

        Schmidt, a senior, also had 18 rebounds, giving her a 17th straight double-double this season and her 46th in her last 47 games.

        Senior Angela Hegland led the Bearcats with 20 points and also had 10 rebounds.

        Sophomore guard Ashley Afterkirk had 13 assists and Leah Lantry and Amanda Wise each scored 11 points to lead Ludlow.

        • Notre Dame 64, Holmes 59 — The Pandas made 12 free throws in the fourth quarter to hold off the Bulldogs.

        Marquise Hanser led Notre Dame with 15 points.

        Holmes' Erica Hallman led all scorers with 27 points.

        • Dixie Heights 53, Lloyd 39 — Freshman Dee Durrett registered career highs with 19 points, 21 rebounds, six steals and two blocks for the Colonels.

        Ryan Crouthers scored 14 points for Lloyd.

        Julie Farley pulled down 15 rebounds and blocked three shots for Colonels. She is averaging 15.9 rebounds a game.

        • Boone County 70, Conner 48 — Senior guard Ciara Henderson scored a game-high 33 points, including 18 in the first quarter.

        Henderson sank all seven of her 3-pointers in the first quarter to lead the Lady Rebels.

        Conner lost despite outrebounding Boone County 14-7.

        Senior Stacey Martin scored a team-high 18 points and added three rebounds for Conner.
