Covington Catholic routs Elder

        Junior guard Greg Hiltz scored 17 points to lead Covington Catholic to a 74-59 victory over visiting Elder on Tuesday night.

        CovCath, which improved to 12-4, is tied for the top spot in the Enquirer's Northern Kentucky boys basketball poll. Elder, 10-4, is No.3 in the Cincinnati Division I poll.

        Seniors Tim Schenke and Jake Bazeley combined for 35 of Elder's points.

        • Conner 87, Ryle 59 — Senior forward Jeremy Stephenson tied Conner's school record with a career-high seven 3-pointers on his way to 25 points as the No.4 Cougars rolled over the Raiders.

        Stephenson and senior center Terry Johnson tied for game-high scoring honors with 25 points each for Ryle. Johnson recorded a double-double with 11 rebounds.

        Dustin Margraves led Ryle with 19 points.
