N.Ky. boys basketball games


Conner cruises by Simon Kenton 79-58

        Senior forward Jeremy Stephenson scored a career-high 31 points and matched a career high with six 3-pointers, leading Conner to a 79-58 victory over Simon Kenton Friday night.

        Stephenson scored six consecutive points early in the third quarter when the Cougars expanded their lead from six points to 16.

        Terry Johnson had 18 points and 10 rebounds for Conner.

        • Covington Catholic 77, Campbell County 60 — Covington Catholic went on a 10-2 run late in the first half behind two 3-pointers from Adam Quast and never trailed again.

        CovCath made 19 of 29 free throws while Campbell struggled, connecting on only seven of 15.

        Junior forward Matt Pinfe led CovCath with 19 points, including 11 in the second half.

        Junior forward Kevin Reinhardt had 18 points, nine rebounds and four assists for Campbell County.

        Ryle scored the game's first six points and led from start to finish.

        Dustin Margrave scored 23 points, and Justin Doellman had 21 for Ryle.

        Lye finished with 21 points. Doug Jones led Dixie Heights with 18 points.

        • Central Baptist 64, Immaculate Conception Academy 37, An aggressive man-to-man defense in the second quarter enabled Central Baptist to outscore ICA 14-4, breaking a 14-14 first-quarter tie.

        Junior guard Quentin Turley scored a game-high 18 points and Nathan Seimon had 13 points to lead Central Baptist, which improved to 5-2 this season.
