Promotions & new on the job

        • Lee P. Geiger has joined the law firm Graydon Head & Ritchey LLP as an associate in the commercial litigation department. Mr. Geiger was senior legal intern at the City of Toledo Law Department. He graduated from the University of Toledo College of Law and was assistant managing editor of the Law Review and a collegiate mock trial judge.

        • Deron Jett has been named chief operating officer at Outsource Management Group, Cincinnati office, and Melissa Miller has joined the company as controller.

        • Seamus Hyland has been named regional director of retail sales operations for Verizon Wireless. Mr. Hyland oversees retail operations at Verizon Wireless sales locations in Ohio. He joined Verizon Wireless, formerly Cellular One as an accountant in 1985. He graduated from Cleveland State University.

        • Bradley Blust has been named vice president of Intrieve Secure Networx Solutions, a new business unit, and Philip Thornberg has joined Intrieve and will oversee the marketing department.

        • Gail Jackson has joined NAI Eagle, the brokerage services and commercial property management division of Eagle Realty Group, as sales associate. Ms. Jackson will specialize in office brokerage and tenant representation. She was vice president with Vollmer Realty. She has a bachelor's degree in retailing/business from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green.

        • Jack B. Harrison has been named a member of the law firm Frost Brown Todd LLC, Cincinnati office.

        • Pat Hudepohl has been appointed vice president of sales and member of the new executive management team at Alexander-Patterson Group, an office furniture and interior design company in Cincinnati. Mr. Hudepohl has over 20 years of experience in the architectural, interiors, and furniture industry.

        • Rick J. Sommer of the law offices of Rick J. Sommer, has joined the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys Inc.

        • Kelli S. Barbro has joined Neyer Properties as property manager. Ms. Barbro will handle the administration of all activities related to the physical operation and management of day-to-day fiscal activities. She was property manager for Corporex Realty Investment Services Corp. and is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati.

        • Barbara Gould, partner with Jeurve Recording Co. and Charles Whitehead, president of Ashland Inc. Foundation have been appointed to the Queen City Foundation board of trustees.

        • Tom Wiseman has been named assistant vice president with Firstar Investment Services Inc.

        • Sandra Frazier has joined Triple-I Systems as senior E-Learning business architect.

        • Dan W. White has joined Comey & Shepherd Realtors as an associate specializing in residential sales.

        • Ronald A. Bell, an associate in the tax, probate and estate planning department of Taft, Stettinius & Hollister LLP, has been appointed to the human resources and compensation committee of the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. Mr. Bell focuses his practice on the employee benefits area, specifically qualified retirement plans, nonqualified deferred compensation plans, and executive compensation.

        • Rebecca Noel has been named director of research and planning at Lipson Alport Glass & Associates.

        • Thomas W. Kahle has joined the law firm of Baker & Hostetler LLP as partner in the Cincinnati office. Mr. Kahle has practiced in business and corporate law with special emphasis on health care law, particularly the transactional and regulatory needs of nonprofit or mission-driven organizations, for more than 25 years. He was a partner at Graydon, Head & Ritchey LLP.

        • Alec Schendzelos and Jan Weaver have been named account executives at Directions Research Inc., Cincinnati office, a full-service market research firm.

        • Brian G. Dershaw has joined Beckman, Weil, Shepardson & Faller LLC as an associate attorney. Mr. Dershaw will concentrate his practice in the areas of litigation, university and employment law, construction and real estate law. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. He also serves as an adjunct professor for the University of Cincinnati, teaching Survey of the American Court System.

        • Jason Hargis has joined Paul Hemmer Companies as property coordinator; Ryan Ficke as project designer; Jamie Lusk, sales representative; and Lisa Clouse, leasing representative.

        • Clifton L. “Skip” Looney has joined J.D. Cloud & Co. LLP as a partner in the Cincinnati office. Mr. Looney had been managing partner at Somerville & Co. in Huntington, W.Va. for the past 12 years. He has nearly 35 years of public accounting experience.

        • George Noggle has been appointed manager of distribution sales at Imperial, the industrial adhesives division of Sovereign Specialty Chemicals Inc.

        • Dale J. Weisker of Cagney, Weisker & Associates, has been appointed president to the 2001 board of directors at the Cincinnati Area Board of Realtors.

        • Dr. Maria Fister Burton has joined the family practice of Summit Medical Group's Edgewood office. Dr. Burton was a physician in Vincennes, Ind. She attended Thomas More College and the University of Louisville Medical School. She did her residency at St. Elizabeth Family Practice Program.

        • Jeffery Donatto has joined Biosite Diagnostics Inc., provider of rapid diagnostic products and antibody development technologies, as regional sales director for the company's Northeast region.

        • Michael J. Eckes has been named assistant vice president of human resources at Application Objects Inc., a Cincinnati-based IT consulting firm.

        • Bob Ries has joined Four Seasons Country Club as director of sales and marketing, and Bobby Hussey has joined the company as assistant director.

        • Patricia Peterson has been appointed branch manager of The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County, Anderson branch library; Vicki McClure, branch manager of the Madeira-Indian Hill-Kenwood (Madeira) branch Library; Donald Baker, department manager, circulation services at the Main Library; Robert Ramsey, custodial supervisor, East division; and Robert Robinson, custodial supervisor, West division.

        • Traci L. Wallace has joined Taft, Stettinius & Hollister LLP as an associate in the litigation department.

Awards & honors

               • Robert Ehmet Hayes & Associates have received the Tri-State Masonry Institute's Industrial Design Award for Clay for the North Pointe Elementary School in Boone County.

        • Horizon Productions Inc. has received a bronze award in the 42nd annual International Cinema in Industry (CINDY) competition present by the International Association of Audio Visual Communicators. Horizon was recognized for Computer Interactive Media for production of Phase I of the Cincinnati Museum Center's Cincinnati in Motion. Horizon has also received a Silver Telly Award at the 21st Annual Awards program and a Silver AXIEM Award.

        • Allison Shawn Russell, an associate in the business and finance department of Taft, Stettinius & Hollister LLP, has been selected to receive a Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarship to Rothenburg, Germany from Rotary International.

        • The Kidney Foundation of Greater Cincinnati honors researchers at 2000 Research Grant Awards/Education program: Dr. Burnett S. Kelly Jr., University of Cincinnati Department of Surgery, and his co-investigators Dr. Prabir Roy-Chaudbury, Dr. Horacio Rilo, and Dr. Sue Heffelringer; and Dr. Leslie D.
