N.Ky. boys basketball games


Campbell Co. upsets No. 3 Highlands

        Junior forward Kevin Reinhardt scored 24 points to lead No.8 Campbell County to a 63-55 upset of No.3 Highlands at Campbell County.

        Reinhardt scored nine points and senior guard Steve Sigmon five during a 17-2 Campbell County run that bridged halftime and left the Camels with a 45-35 lead with 2 1/2 minutes to go in the third quarter. Highlands could get no closer than six points after that.

        Reinhardt also led Campbell County with 12 rebounds. Senior forward Chris Clines also reached double figures for the Camels with 12 points.

        Highlands senior Gino Guidugli scored 24 points before fouling out with 3:55 left in the game.

        • Grant County 77, Lexington Catholic 72 — Senior guard Allen Shafer scored 48 points, one short of his career high, to lead Grant County in an upset over Lexington Catholic, the state's No. 4 team.

        Grant County trailed most of the game after falling behind 21-9 in the first quarter. Shafer led a second quarter comeback with 17 points. Grant County took the lead for good with 38 seconds remaining in the third quarter.

        Shafer hit 14 of 16 free throws to help seal the outcome.

        ›Ludlow 60, Calvary Christian 48 — Adam Martin scored 17 of his game-high 20 points in the second half to lift the Panthers to their fifth straight win.

        Ludlow hit nine of 12 free throws in the final period. Andy Beard scored 13 points and Tyler Schlickman added 11 for the Panthers. Ben Mollozzi led the Cougars with 17 points.

        Jackson Capel paced Heritage with 21 points with Charlie McIntyre scoring 16 and Mike Gullett adding 15 for Bellevue.

        Lloyd had a chance to win the game, but 6-7 freshman Dereck Rhoden blocked a shot for the Mustangs as time ran out.

        Chris Ryan led Brossart with 14 points. Mike Hopkins led the Juggernauts with a game-high 15 points.

        Kevin Cristello led all scorers with 23 for the Pioneers with Nick Love pacing St. Henry with 19.
