Promotions & new on the job




        • David Hartman has been named president of the newly-created flooring division of Formica Corp. Mr. Hartman joined the company in 1996 to start up the flooring business. Prior to working at Formica, he was vice president, marketing at Dal-Tile Inc.; senior vice president of the residential business group for Mannington Mills; and advertising and promotion supervisor for Armstrong World Industries.

        • Warren A. Church has been named account executive in the Cincinnati office of Deskey Associates Inc., design firm.

        William J. Gruber has been named president of Ferromatik Milacron North America. Mr. Gruber began as general manager of the business. He most recently served as vice president, and continues to report to Harold Faig, group vice president-plastics technologies. Mr. Gruber is also a Milacron corporate officer. With 30 years of service at Milacron, he started with the company as a machine operator while in college. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati.

        • Lou L. Class, Christopher M. Conley, Paula M. Schafer and Jonathan R. Schwind have been named managers in the business consulting practice of Arthur Andersen, Cincinnati office.

        • Calvin Decker has been named executive recruiter at Professions Inc., a national search and recruiting firm in Cincinnati. Mr. Decker joined the company in 1999 as a researcher after graduating from the University of Cincinnati in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in psychology.

        • Paul A. Guggenheim, executive director of Core Behavioral Health Centers, has been appointed president of the board of the Ohio Council of Behavioral Healthcare Providers.

        • Jason L. Hodges has joined Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP as a lawyer in the firm's Cincinnati office. He obtained his law degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law and his bachelor's degree from Centre College. He was an assistant to Allen C. Trimble, Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney in Corbin, Ky.

        • Duane A. Boggs has joined the law firm of Santen & Hughes as a lawyer.

        • Justin D. Flamm, an associate in the labor and employment department of Taft, Stettinius & Hollister LLP, has been appointed to the board of trustees of The Friends of William Howard Taft Birthplace. Mr. Flamm received his bachelor's degree from Miami University and his law degree from the Washington and Lee University of Law. He was editor in chief of the Washington and Lee Law Review.

        • Appointed new board of trustees at The Tourism Council of Greater Cincinnati for 2000-2001 are: Marie Fuehner, director of Convention and Visitors Services, Northern Kentucky Convention and Visitors Bureau, chairman; Jeff Blom, director of sales, BB Riverboats, vice chair; Shawnna Dunaway, sales manager, Holiday Inn Eastgate, secretary; and Margaret Drexel, marketing director, Warren County Convention and Visitors Bureau, treasurer.

        • The following have joined Sibcy Cline Realtors as real estate specialists: Sandra B. Watson and Dave Dutle, Anderson; Jill A. Jones, Western Hills, and Robin Fields has joined the Kenwood office as specialized residential sales associate.

        • Robert B. Hall has joined Contech Construction Products Inc. as manager, information technology, and Gena Graves has been named CAD designer in the engineering department.

        • Christina Freds has joined The Vaughn Group Inc. as controller; Margo Fleming as contract administration; and Darlene Grieco, director of contract administration.

        • Butch Losey has been named coordinator of training for the Child Focus Inc. training center, a new division. Mr. Losey has worked with Child Focus for six years as an activity therapist in the partial hospitalization program. He will be responsible for the necessary functions of starting the program. His main role will be to develop a training curriculum for professionals such as counselors, social workers, and teachers. He has a bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati.

        • Kris Morgan has been named in charge in the tax department of VonLehman & Co.; Jenny Worthington and Adam Davey, supervisors in the audit department; Monica Gardner, supervisor in the cost-reimbursement department; Carol Canaday, senior executive assistant and Jeff Babiak, associate shareholder.

        • Emily Hauntz has been named new media producer at Iacono Productions, business theater production company. Ms. Hauntz will act as client liaison, designer and programmer for new media applications including interactive CD and Web page development. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati's College of Design, Architecture, Art & Planning. She has been with the company for one and a half years.

        • Tom Hopper has joined Neyer Properties Inc. as superintendent. Mr. Hopper will oversee on-site management and coordination of construction activities.

        • Kevin J. Payne has been named vice president of corporate sales at Cincinnati Bell Telephone. Mr. Payne has more than 15 years of sales experience and leadership. He will lead the corporate sales division. He was regional vice president for the Berry Co., where he ran the Independent Telephone Co. line of business.

        • Shea W. Blackburn has been named senior auditor I at Ashland Inc.

        • Bo Bandura has been named vice president of sales and marketing of The Staubach Co.

        • Erika Hand has joined Pope & Associates as a consultant. Ms. Hand has consulted for several multinational corporations, including Procter & Gamble and Disney. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees in social work from Indiana University.

        • Michelle Knight has joined The Sheffer Corp., a hydraulic cylinder manufacturer, as the marketing coordinator.

        • Kathleen A. Quickle has joined Clermont Savings Bank, a full-service bank in Milford, as underwriter for the mortgage banking division. Mrs. Quickle has more than 14 years of banking experience. Her experience will help the bank continue to expand in the FHA and VA lending areas.

        • Garret Neiswonger has been named branch manager of the Cincinnati office of Spherion's Legal Group, formerly Interim Legal Services.

        • Amy Zimmerman and Tom Rieger have joined Re/Max Affiliates Realtors as residential sales associates in the Fort Mitchell office.

        • Geoff Allen has joined Backley & Gingrich Advertising Inc. as creative director and Walt Adamkosky, creative director and partner, has been named chief creative officer.

        • Phil Brookshire has been named senior vice president with general management responsibilities at Fisher Design Inc.; Dave Hunt to vice president, creative director; Bob Best, vice president, model services; and Gil Schmidt, vice president, business development. Bob Roth has joined the company as industrial designer for the industrial design division.

        • Megan Reichard and Allison Socol have been named account managers at Empower MediaMarketing (EM2).

        • James E. Sturgeon has been appointed human resources manager for the Cincinnati market at Humana/ChoiceCare, the Cincinnati-based subsidiary of Humana Inc. Mr. Sturgeon will lead the local team of human resource professionals to provide operational and strategic direction. He received a bachelor's and master's degree in business administration from the University of Louisville.

        • Jason P. Brewer has been named assistant cashier at Fifth Third Bank, and Keith R. Braun a trust officer.

        • Joe Trauth has been named community relations manager for Cincinnati Coca-Cola Enterprises. Mr. Trauth will be responsible for developing and managing Coca-Cola's community and political involvement with an emphasis on youth and schools. He will also manage activities surrounding Cincinnati Coke's 100th anniversary in 2001. He has been with the company for 10 years.

        • Alex Windisch has joined Hixson as mechanical designer/systems engineer; Robert Razzano as process engineer assistant; and Mark Kombrink, mechanical engineer co-op.

        • Dan Henke has been named vice president of the member com panies of Ohio Casualty Group in Hamilton.

        • Brian Hock has been named vice president and an equity shareholder of DeanHouston Inc., a full-service advertising agency. Mr. Hock joined the company in 1995 as a graphic designer, and was later named director of art and Internet development. Prior to joining the company, he was an art director for F&W Publications, and a graphic designer for Influence Inc. He has 10 years of experience in advertising. He graduated from Bowling Green State University.

        • The following have joined Coldwell Banker West Shell as real estate sales associates: Beth Stiles, Mariemont office; Stephanie Simmons, Fairfield; Yiming Zhang, Western Hills; and Jo Ann Jennings and Darryll Davis, Montgomery.
       

Awards & honors

               • Jeffrey S. Routh and Jeremy R. Mason have become associated with the law firm, Mason, Slovin & Schilling. Mr. Routh will concentrate in the areas of commercial litigation and creditor's rights. Mr. Mason is a graduate of Cornell University and an honors graduate of the Ohio State University, College of Law. At Ohio State, Mr. Mason was awarded the American Bankruptcy Institute Achievement Award, and also received the Certificate for Expertise in commercial and business associations. Mr. Mason will concentrate in the areas of commercial collection law, banking law and bankruptcy law.

        • Carl J. Samson, portrait artist and owner of Samson Studios in East Walnut Hills, has been named to the international advisory board for the American Society of Portrait Artists.

        • Carolyn A. Taggart, a partner in the firm of Rendigs, Fry, Kiely & Dennis, L.L.P. in Cincinnati, has become a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.

        • Daniel J. Buckley, a partner in the Cincinnati office of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP, has become a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.

        • TriData Technologies Inc. is a back-to-back recipient of the year 2000 Business Solutions Magazine and AIM (Automatic Identification Manufacturers) Total Solution Provider Award.

        • Photonics Graphics, a Cincinnati-based multimedia design studio, has received the Zanders USA Corporate Communications Design Award of Excellence, for designing a brochure for the Berman Printing Co.

        • KZF Design, a Cincinnati-based architecture, engineering, interior design, and planning firm, has received an Air Mobility Command Design Award from the United States Air Force. KZF was specifically recognized for its work on the Global Reach Conference Center's Visiting Officers Quarters at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.
