NKU women 84, Christian Brothers 51
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. Junior forward Michelle Cottrell scored 26 points as the Northern Kentucky women's basketball team beat Christian Brothers 84-51 in the championship of the Community Recorder Classic.
NKU (4-0) shot 53.3 percent on field goals and led 44-24 at halftime.
Cottrell, Heather Livingstone, Michele Tuchfarber and sophomore forward Amy Mobley were named to the all-tournament team for the Norse.
NKU has won 28 consecutive games, and is ranked No.1 in the NCAA Division II national poll.
NKU will begin Great Lakes Valley Conference play at 5:30 p.m. Thursday against Lewis at Regents Hall.
