Possible explosives found near man's body

The Cincinnati Enquirer

SARDINIA — The Brown County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death of a man found in his home near here Wednesday morning as a possible homicide.

The body of the man, whose name was being withheld pending notification of relatives, had a gunshot wound to the head. The body was found after a relative went to the residence to check on the man and smelled propane gas in the home, the sheriff's department said. The relative called the Brown County E-911 Communications Center for assistance at 7:37 a.m. and a state fire marshal and sheriff's deputies responded to the scene.

The officials found the dead man and what appeared to be two explosive devices.

The Wright-Patterson Bomb Squad was called to the scene to handle the possible explosives.
