        A week after a suspect suffocated in Cincinnati police custody, the legal waiting game continued Tuesday as officers involved stayed silent.

Lower passing grade urged
        A bill introduced Tuesday in the Ohio Senate would lower the score needed to pass the fourth-grade proficiency test and eliminate two portions of the exam.

Local prof best in state
        Dr. Elizabeth “Buffy” Bookser Barkley of the College of Mount St. Joseph was named Ohio's Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation Tuesday.

Consumers left out in the cold
        Health experts are reminding consumers to carefully read labels on their favorite cold and allergy remedies after the FDA's recent warning that a popular ingredient in those products could pose a health threat to women.
