Reading-Milford Center Scouting Report

WHO: Reading (9-2) vs. Milford Center Fairbanks (9-2)

        DIVISION: V

WHEN/WHERE: 7p.m. today, Wayne Stadium, 5400 Chambersburg Road, Huber Heights.

        TICKETS: $5 at gate

        SEATING: 6,000

LAST WEEK: Reading 41, Columbus Academy 20; Milford Center Fairbanks 19, Columbus Ready 7.

KEY PLAYERS: Reading: tailback DeShawn Wynn (1,522 rushing); quarterback Zach Maxfield (1,121 passing); receiver Charlie Vample. Fairbanks: Quarterback Kyle Whaley (350 passing, 271 rushing); fullback Dustin Green (808 rushing); fullback Elliott Ward (439 rushing); tailback Cody Ward (432 rushing); receivers Justin Davis and Nick Hodges; defensive End Matt Bartolac.

WHAT TO WATCH: During the middle part of the season, Fairbanks played without six senior starters who were sidelined with injuries.

But five of the six are healthy now, and the Panthers are playing their best football.

A team without a star offensive player, the Panthers rely on a stingy defense (four shutouts) that limited Columbus Bishop Ready to 21 yards during the final three quarters last week.

Whaley, a starting receiver the past two seasons, took over at quarterback the fifth game of the season and has led the Panthers to five victories in the last six outings.

Reading counters with a diversified offense.

This game has the making of a low scoring affair.
