COVINGTON — Here she comes, former Miss America, to campaign in a Northern Kentucky state Senate race.

Fresh off her wedding last week to Lt. Gov. Steve Henry, Heather French Henry — who ended her reign as Miss America last month — is scheduled to appear at a Saturday afternoon rally for Democratic state Senate candidate Jaimie Henson.

The event will be 4-5:30 p.m. at the American Legion post at 38th Street and Winston Avenue in Latonia.

Mr. Henry also is scheduled to attend.

Mrs. French Henry is a former Republican who changed parties to Democrat after she became engaged to Mr. Henry, a second-term Democrat who plans to run for governor in 2003.

Mrs. Henson, of Independence, is running against Republican incumbent Sen. Jack Westwood of Erlanger.

Mr. Westwood's campaign did not return a phone call to comment.
