Mighty Ducks 5, Rochester 3




        Marc Rodgers scored two goals as the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks skated past the Rochester Americans 5-3 Friday night in the AHL at the Gardens.

        B.J. Young, Andy McDonald and Antti Aalto also had goals to help Cincinnati improve its record to 6-1-0-0. Yuri Butsayev added a pair of assists for his first career multiple-point game.

        “We scored a couple of timely goals, and that allowed us to have the upper hand,” Ducks coach Mike Babcock said. “We were in control of the game in the third period, and I thought we showed good maturity and poise with the game on the line.”

        Goalie Gregg Naumenko, making consecutive starts for the first time this season, pushed aside 24 shots to notch his second victory of the season.
