First-ever district victory

        Holy Cross isn't going to the playoffs. But it may have been the football team celebrating most Friday night.

        The third-year program claimed the first Class A district win in school history, setting a team single-game scoring record in a 30-7 beating of Ludlow at Holmes.

        Senior quarterback Scott Goetz picked up 35 yards on the ground, caught a touchdown pass and threw for 168 yards on 12 completions for another score.
