Tips for successful fund raising
Don't try to do it all yourself. At least two months before an event, form a committee with at least 10 members and put everyone in charge of a specific task, whether it's ticket sales or soliciting merchandise for giveaways.
Don't pay for what you can get free. Get the facility donated for a fund-raiser. Also check with agents, and look on the Internet and radio station Web sites for bands and other acts that will entertain for free.
Keep track of who has tickets, and tell each person or organization who receives tickets to sell that they're responsible for any lost tickets.
Have everyone who attends write their names and addresses on the tickets, so that organizers can send personal thank you notes to each attendee.
Publicize the fund-raiser, put fliers in local businesses and have pizza parlors put notices on pizza boxes. Hit every media outlet.
Keep ticket prices low and offer a variety of entertainment, so that the event can stand alone when it comes to value.
