Woman, 18, charged in Mt. Washington slaying

The Cincinnati Enquirer

An altercation Monday afternoon at a Mount Washington apartment complex left a 50-year-old man dead and an 18-year-old woman charged with murder.

Bruce Reed, of the 1800 block of Sutton Avenue, was pronounced dead at Mercy Anderson Hospital shortly after the 1:15 p.m. incident, police said.

Stacy Hill, 18, who lived in the apartment with her grandmother, Regina Hill, and Mr. Reed was charged with murder, police said.

Ms. Hill, who police said was injured in an altercation with the victim, was hospitalized late Monday in University Hospital, where she is in serious condition. Her injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said.

The victim was found with multiple stab wounds in the Sutton Avenue apartment. Neighbors called police to say the 18-year-old woman was standing outside on the steps.

The dead man was the suspect's grandmother's boyfriend, neighbors said. Police confirmed officers had been at the apartment Sunday night, also for a fight involving Ms. Hill. The death was the 30th homicide this year in Cincinnati.
