LaSalle-Moeller at top of tonight's schedule
The Cincinnati Enquirer
LaSalle has struggled to win football games in the Greater Catholic League the past five years, but the Lancers (3-1) have a new optimism this season and get their first shot at league play against undefeated Moeller (4-0) tonight at LaSalle Stadium.
The Crusaders won 35-7 in 1999.
We didn't play well in the league, and we must do it on the field rather than just talk about it, coach Jim McQuaide said of his Lancers, 0-3 last season in the GCL South.
Elsewhere, Glen Este, off to a 3-1 start and 2-0 in the FAVC Buckeye Division, visits Turpin, and Anderson (4-0) visits Northwest in what could prove to be a high scoring affair.
Tonight's Kentucky schedule is highlighted by unbeaten teams putting their perfect seasons on the line on the road: 5-0 Simon Kenton plays at Lexington Henry Clay, and 4-0 Beechwood is at Bardstown.
The Pioneers are trying to become the first Simon Kenton team to win six straight to start a season since the 1979 team started 7-0.
Another top game has Highlands playing host to Lexington Paul Dunbar. Both teams are 3-1.
