Miami's Tillitz earns pair of MAC honors
The Cincinnati Enquirer
OXFORD Miami RedHawks wideout/punt returner Eddie Tillitz was named special teams player of the week and scholar athlete of the week in the Mid-American Conference.
The third-year sophomore returned five punts for a league-record 162 yards in Miami's 34-17 victory at Eastern Michigan Saturday. That shattered the previous mark of 153, set by Ohio University's Dave Phillips against Western Reserve in 1950.
Two of Tillitz's returns resulted in touchdowns a 53-yarder and an 82-yarder. His two TDs tied the NCAA Division I-A single-game mark held by many.
