Colerain and Moeller, football teams that fought to a tie in a preseason scrimmage, now are deadlocked in a second battle.
Both teams received five first-place votes and 95 points to take the top spot from preseason No.1 Elder in The Cincinnati Enquirer's first weekly poll of the regular season.
Elder is No.3 followed by LaSalle and St. Xavier.
Edgewood (3-0), a Division II state semifinalist in 1999, was voted No.1 in the the Division II-VI poll, with Purcell Marian (3-0) only three points behind.
Three other undefeated teams, Indian Hill, McNicholas and New Richmond round out the top five in Division II-VI.
Highlands, Elder's opponent Saturday at Paul Brown Stadium, was the unanimous choice as the No.1 team in Northern Kentucky.
Colerain's rise from No. 6 in the preseason poll came as the result of a 14-7 season-opening victory over Elder and wins over Hughes and Oak Hills. Moeller struggled to a 10-7 overtime victory over Lakota West in its first game, and followed with victories over Warren Harding and Indianapolis Roncalli.
