Death of inmate in cell investigated

The Cincinnati Enquirer

MIDDLETOWN — A 48-year-old inmate was found dead in the city jail Tuesday afternoon.

Dennis Moncelsi, no address available, was discovered apparently not breathing in his cell about 4:30 p.m., police said. Attempts by members of the city fire department to revive him were unsuccessful.

There were no obvious signs of foul play, but the death is being investigated by Middletown police detectives and the Butler County Coroner's Office.

Mr. Moncelsi had been in the jail since Sunday on a disorderly conduct/intoxication charge.

He was scheduled to appear in court Monday
