Man arrested in drive-by shooting
LINCOLN HEIGHTS — A suspect wanted by police on charges of wounding three people in a drive-by shooting early Saturday was arrested Sunday afternoon in Forest Park.
Police charged Derick Jenkins, 27, of the 900 block of Prairie Avenue, Woodlawn, with three counts of attempted murder in the incident. Three men were shot at a house in the 400 block of Matthews Drive at 2:45 a.m. Saturday as a vehicle drove past, police said.
One of the injured was shot in left leg, another in the right arm. Both were treated at University Hospital and released.
A third man was hospitalized at University Hospital with a wound to the lower back.
Mr. Jenkins was apprehended in the 11000 block of Hamilton Avenue in Forest Park.
